The Finder menu which is accessable via the finder Icon on the dock is the equivalent to the My Computer on Windows.
The panel on the left allows you to navigate through sections of folders. Once you click on a section you like, such as applications, you will get a list of applications on the large window in the finder. This is nearly identical to Windows My Computer, but slightly simplified and refined.
The Blue Apple located in the upper-left of the screen is similar to the Start menu on Windows. It is mainly used for basic system
controls such as shutting down, restarting, etc.
